This Just In

The results are in. Check out how we did. Just search for my first name and it'll get you right to us.

Nae thinks we did bad, but I could not be happier with the results. I guess that just proves that we are on totally different levels. Also, we started about 0.1 mi from the starting line and waited in line at the end for about a minute or two to give them our race slip.

Donkey Basketball

When I grow up, I want to have an entire donkey basketball herd - enough for both teams - and a place to have all my family and friends come play. I can't wait!

Dillon introduced me to this site. I love it.

Settling In

My blog is at its final resting place - blog.cerrastuff.com. www.cerrastuff.com will be a home page to access my main blog, running log, works blog, and anything else I come up with, but it's nothing yet. So update your bookmarks and visit often!

Also, I will be experimenting with colors and templates, so don't freak out if it's awful. It just means that I got sick of playing with it before I found something that looked nice. Unless it's like that for multiple days/weeks. That just means that we have completely differing tastes.

Wow, I have a lot to be thankful for.

At the top of my "Things I am Thankful For" list is my family. I got to spend Thanksgiving with most of my immediate family and their families today, and it was great.

Sheri and Rob invited us to come to their house for the day. Shirlene (Rob and Bill's step-mom) helped Sheri in getting everything ready for our wonderful feast. The food was great and there was tons of it.Nolan and Heather were able to stop by for a few hours too.
Everyone got so nice and full a nap was in order.
It didn't take long for the kids to liven back up and attack Uncle Rob/Dad though.
Yeah, there's a full-grown man under that pile of kids.
Rob was finally able to break away and retreat into the corner. I have some crazy nieces and nephews. I love my big, crazy family so much!
I hope you all had as good of a day as I did.

5k with Nae

This morning for me was kicked off at 6am with getting ready (putting on clothes) and heading over to my friend from work, Renae's, house.

We ran the Utah Human Race this morning. It was for a great cause and a nice start to the holiday. As you may know, I have been training for a while now, but I have had so many 'hiccups' in the process that I wasn't nearly as prepared as I wanted to be.

I totally slowed Nae down, but she was awesome. She would go on ahead of me - not too far anyway - and when she did she'd either run backwards until I caught up or she would run back to me. I felt bad for slowing her up so much, but she insisted we were in it together. We ran the whole way. Nae probably actually ran 4 miles with all the bad tracking for me. :-) I wouldn't have done nearly as well as I did if it wasn't for her. She so motivated me. I haven't run that far straight since I lived in Weiser, so it was an incredible thing for me.

Thanks Nae for being such a great friend and not being (or showing it anyway :-P) irritated with me for 'crampin' yo style.'

We also saw Laura and Rusty there too. I work with Laura as well. She is 5 months or so pregnant and they passed us before we even crossed the start line and we never saw them again. They are more seasoned running than we are (more like, than I am).

What a great way to start out Turkey day.
